Destination 3 (Degrees)
Morgan Hoesterey came up with an idea. Stand up paddle across the Hawaiian Island chain as a way to raise awareness about plastics and their effects on the ocean. A seasoned stand up paddler (she was the first woman to stand up paddle across the Molokai Channel), she knew the challenge that she had presented with herself. She recruited fellow distance racer, Jenny Kalmbach to join her on this expedition. They, along with a small crew, pushed themselves mentally and physically across some of the most dangerous waters in the world - culminating in the daring 82 mile , night time crossing from Oahu to Kauai. Destination 3 Degrees is the story of two women striking out across three degrees of oceanic latitude that are some of the most dangerous open ocean waters in the world.
